Help, Notes and Tips for Gallery 300

HUB:
The HUB page, is the main root index page or the tree trunk to the website. Each three digit number represents area of interest, which is also represented by the background color in the number box.
Green = Railways
Red = Land Transport
Cyan = Aviation
Yellow = Tourism
Darker Blue = Maritime
Light Blue = Canals and Rivers

Color Areas:
Means, that our colours differ a little from others, because of photograpic and arte colors, and we have created areas, which covers more than one line. They do try and convey the colours of the old london undergound system, but with improvements.
Black Area Area Black, Northern lines, Area
Brown Area Area Brown, Bakerloo lines, Area
Red Area Area Red, Central lines, Area
Cyan Area Area Cyan, Piccadilly Lines, Area
Yellow Area Area Yellow, Circle lines, Area

ALT Facility:
The ALT facility highlights a pop up box, when the mouse is hovering over a number box or a picture which then displays extra text information! However not all browsers support the ALT facility or you may need a patch into their browser program to enable you to use this important facility.

Overground:
Means, National Networks. Please do not be confused by a company called "London Overground".

Underground Networks:
Means, systems which can run over, overground or underground, which includes Docklands Light Railway.

Other Lines:
Means, Preserved railways and independent lines, which may connect.

Station Names:
Means, that they may differ slightly to save confusion and clarity and so we can sort independently on each particular station. Or we have added (North) (South) (East) and (West), because of compass direction of line, as there are two station names the same.

Georgraphical Locations:
The map areas of the country have been split up into sections, to tray an protray a balance numbering and layout plan of the networks. There will appear to be some discrepencies, but you will find that they are logical. The other problem is that trains follow their own routes.

Interchange: Means that there is more than one page in the sequence, regardless of there being or maybe only one station, because more than one network uses that station. [Saltash] = Denotes the link page to previous or next station on next or last page.

Route structure:
The main line stations are usually numberered sequentially, but missing out the "0". As this is for use for other things such as airports. They also take the first county of destination from the terminus.

Alpha Sorts:
Take for an example an overground station within the London area, but is not listed in the alphabetical index for London. Try using an Underground station nearby and link it over to the overground that way.

Some trains do not stop at some stations, there you may be looking for a train, which is in a different index or cross border. Therefore try and think of another station nearby and work it backwards.

End Stations: The left and right hand stations are always the next or the last station in the sequence. Any other station or stations in the middle are branch lines etc.

Station Name Colors:
White = Normal Operational Station
Yellow = Preserved Railway station
Green = Under Construction station
Soft Red = Future, Planned station
Red = Disused Station

Running Times:
  <01 min 06>
Means, the time in minutes between the last and the next station.

Compass Points
(N) (S) (E) (W) = North, South, East, West, denotes a station which has more than one page (htm or page) station or line making two or more parts to a station. Usually by means of a different network operator or Branch line or preserved railway.

Regions:
We will do our best to keep railway lines and stations in their correct counties, but it is impossible to do this in many cases. Therefore the regions are for guides lines only, because railway lines crosses and crosses again as to towns and counties. And we have to cheat, as to a lack of understanding and this site is a reasearch and development web site.

East Midland Line:
If you use Coach "A" This is the quiet coach, which means no mobile fones or radios or laptops.

Help:
We will do our best to make things as accurate as possible, but we cannot be held responsible in any way shape or form. It is your responsibility to check things out, as things can change quickly.

Photographs: We need all your old photographs please, with your copyright approval. There must be many out there, so please have a look in the loft and in your albums.
